When you’re told you’re going to be watching a video combining Star Wars with Charlie Chaplin, you’d quite rightly expect the usual internet frivolity. Mutant Power Of The Week
When Rudy in Misfits “enjoyed” the most ill-advised 19 seconds ( 19 seconds! ) of his life this week, it seems the girl he decided to do the dirty on had another mutant power other than the one which involved Rudy’s knob dropping off. How else can you explain the sudden appearance of giant nekkid boobie in the bed? And looking at the state of that nipple, she was certainly enjoying herself.
Magical Reappearing Arm Of The Week
There was a bit of armless fun in the Christmas episode of Haven this week when a surfer was sliced in half by something that we won’t reveal because either a) it’s a bit spoilery to reveal or b) it’s so ludicrous you wouldn’t believe it. Then again this is Haven we’re talking about… But if her legs can grow back as quickly as her arm, she shouldn’t have much to worry about.
Halitosis Of The Week
Looking at Kenzi’s expression in this week’s Lost Girl , we reckon Hale really ought to floss before he uses his Siren scream.
Barnet Of The Week
Warehouse 13 was back this week for a spot of festive fun, and clumsy old Pete Latimer knocks a bunch of artefacts off a shelf in the Christmas aisle. But what was that thing she scooped out of the snow? One of Mrs Frederic’s old wigs it looked like. If her hair is, indeed, an artefact, then that might explain what she’s doing in the episode anyway, considering she died at the end of last season… (Then again, none of these Syfy Christmas specials ever seem to fit into the established time line.)
Creative Thriftiness Of The Week
Whatever else you think about Sanctuary , its ability to come up with new and inventive ways to make cheap episodes borders on artistic genius. This week they had a Matrix episode, with Magnus and Nikola uploading themselves into a digital representation of the Sanctuary. And because, of course, about 80% of the Sanctuary sets are virtual anyway – with the actors shot against green screens – it’s a doddle for the FX guys to play around with their existing software to produce stretchy rooms, wireframes and other cost-cutting visuals.
Alternative Ending Of The Week
The How It Should Have Ended team is back on form with this X-Men: First Class skit. First one in ages that doesn’t feel too long, and even the post-credits extra scene is great.

The Muppets are damned pinko Communist revolutionaries! That’s according to the talking heads on a US money programme on the Fox Business Network. In an article on The Muppet Movie last week, the panel of gasbag economic experts slammed the film’s villain, Tex Richman, for being a metaphor for the oil industry. “Liberal Hollywood depicting a successful business man as evil? That’s not new," said anchor Eric Bolling. Well, sometimes a cliché is a cliché because it’s true, folks. When asked to comment, Kermit said, “It isn’t easy being red.” Possibly.

Daftest Headline Of The Week
First reaction to that headline: WHAT? They’ve only just noticed? Science fiction practically IS mainstream cinema. Then you read the article and you realise it’s about the science fiction concepts in films like Mike Cahill's Another Earth and Lars Von Trier's Melancholia , which are about as mainstream as Bolivian installation art. Someone on The Guardian is clearly living in the Bizarro universe. Either that or the piece was written under a pseudonym by Margaret Atwood.
Moving Wallpaper Of The Week
Timelapse sequences from Skyrim ? Seriously? What’s the point…? Erm, other than they’re hypnotically beautiful and we’ve been staring at them for hours. Not sure about the music though. The visuals are all ambient-y and relaxing but the music is too lively. Why not just use the in-game music instead?
