Everybody get up, it's time to slam now, we got a real thing goin' down, welcome to the Space Jaaaaaaam! Yes, the 1996 classic… hey, I see you there, heading for the comments - it is so a classic! Anyway, the 1996 film starring Michael Jordan alongside the Looney Tunes crew is getting a sequel, with Fast & Furious director Justin Lin co-writing and reportedly in talks to produce and direct.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that Lin is currently in talks with Warner Bros. Entertainment regarding the movie, and that Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James will star as Jordan's successor. Beyond that, almost everything about Space Jam 2 is up in the air. No wordplay intended.
If you need a refresher, the first Space Jam was about aliens from Moron Mountain stealing basketball superstars' talent so they could beat the Looney Tunes in a game of basketball and enslave them. Okay, so the plot and writing weren't gonna win any Oscars, but it's a kids movie and that soundtrack sure was great. Here's hoping a sequel can be at least half as fun.
