South Park: Fractured But Whole gets farts that rip through time, plenty of laughs
During Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, Trey Parker and Matt Stone took the stage to discuss South Park The Fractured But Hole. They showed a couple of clips of gameplay that displayed the glorious snarky humor that South Park fans know and love.
Storywise, the South Park kids are all in peak superhero form, led by Cartman. His Coon hero creates the backstory for each of the group’s members, including The New Kid, and sasses everybody in sight. Fractured will give players control of other elements of their own heroic identify, though. One of the clips featured the beginning of the character creation screen. Players will have class options such as Speedster and Brutalist, each with their own options for superpowers.
Fractured also has updated the combat from Stick of Truth. Players will have more use of space, with movement options push and pull enemies, or knock them into props or other characters. And now, your farts can rip the fabric of time itself. You know, like they do.
They gave the release date as Dec. 6. Although the statement got a snort of surprise from the others on stage, so perhaps that is still an optimistic goal? We'll have to wait and see. Also, fans who buy Fractured But Whole will get a free copy of Stick of Truth for the full South Park experience.
