Sony sweetens PlayStation 3D Display pre-orders with Resistance 3

You may remember when Sony unveiled its new PlayStation 3D Display at E3 2011, which lets two players play on the same monitor with no split screen. Since then, the PS3-friendly set has received a variety of bundle deals, but Sony’s latest special offer for the 24” 3D monitor will include a copy of MotorStorm: Apocalypse – and a copy of Resistance 3 for those who pre-order.

In addition to MotorStorm: Apocalypse, the $499 bundle includes the display, an HDMI cable, and a pair of PlayStation 3D glasses. Place a pre-order with your favorite participating retailer before Sept 30 and you'll also get Resistance 3. If you were already planning on buying the FPS, that's a saving of $59, making the set a mite more reasonable.

Of course, if you were planning on buying Resistance 3 anyway, you might prefer to have the game on its Sept 6 launch, rather than in November when the display ships. Online buyers will have to wait for the display itself before receiving Resistance 3 to play on it, whereas retailers such as GameStop are offering the bonus in-store as soon as the game becomes available.
