Sony gifting Tomb Raider: Underworld and Marvel Pinball to PS Plus members
Lara, Marvel, Spyro and more arrive for PS Plus Holiday Collection sale/giveaway
Lara Croft, some Marvel pinheads, and a slew of other Sony stars are coming home for the PlayStation Plus holidays, as the US PlayStation Blog reports Tomb Raider: Underworld, Marvel Pinball, and a selection of other popular titles will be available for free or at significant discounts to PS Plus members during one of the service's most giving months yet.
Starting today, PS Plus members can pick up Crystal Dynamic's 2008 Tomb Raider tale along with Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Rifto's Rage, Spyro: Year of the Dragon, and PS Minis Orbit and Mad Blocker Alpha for nothing. One week later, on December 13, Sony will also release Zen Studios' Marvel Pinball for free, followed by the PS Mini A Space Shooter for 2 Bucks! on December 20 (which, for the sake of consistency, should be called a Space Shooter for 0 Bucks).
These freebies are part of Sony's PS Plus Holiday Collection promotion. Also on offer are 30% discounts on notable PS3 game packs, including the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Bundle and the LA Noire Bundle/Complete Edition; up to 80% off PSN collections like the Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 1 and 2 Bundle and the Tales of Monkey Island Bundle; and 50% off Marvel Pinball's Captain America and Fantastic Four DLC tables--all of which will begin competing for your time and cash on December 13.
In all, Sony pegs the total PS Plus savings at over $250, which more than covers a yearly membership. That is, provided you haven't played these games before, or aren't working your way through the wealth of AAA titles that arrived over the past few months. No doubt, Sony is making a big play for your PS Plus allegiance this season. Will you take the bait?
