Slumdog nabs more awards love
The actors and producers decide...
Slumdog Millionaire is continuing to scoop up awards faster than the treasury loses money.
This weekend alone, Danny Boyle’s latest picked up not only the top gong from the Producers Guild Awards and Ensemble cast at the Screen Actors Guild bash.
Seann Penn was the actors’ choice for his role in Milk, while Meryl Streep took Best Actress for Doubt. Supporting Awards went to the expected Heath Ledger and – adding to the confusion about whether it’s a lead role or not – Kate Winslet for The Reader.
Stunt Ensemble
The Dark Knight took one other award from the SAG voters- Stunt Ensemble, which seems like an odd award, but thoroughly deserved given how much of the film’s set pieces were pulled off for real.
