Skyrim to copy Peter Molyneuxs innovation of same-sex marriage

Lionhead's Peter Molyneux is a technical wizard who has invented 72% of modern gaming, his prowess giving us everything from trees that grow to the very idea of God himself. And before he invented the concept of same-sex marriages for the Fable series, we gamers had no idea of the possibilities such an idea could afford. It seems Bethesda was also paying attention to his revolutionary concept, as its Vice President of PR, Peter Hines, has now confirmed that same-sex marriages will be possible in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Hines - in response to a tweet asking if the same-sex issue was “hush-hush” - tweeted “Not hush hush, just not making a huge deal out of it. You can marry anyone”, before clarifying “Not any NPC, just Male or Female”. Rockstar’s Bully also offered a watered down version of Molynuex’s idea, with you being able to steal a kiss from someone of the same gender.

Bethesda has nicely avoided making a big controversial issue out of this as well. It’s clearly just a small gameplay flourish designed for players to explore if they want to. Moreover, it’s the latest in the long line of Elder Scrolls V announcements recently – such as yesterday's revelation that NPCs will hunt you down if you terminate one of their family – that seem to suggest that Skyrim will be providing everything but the kitchen sink to players when it comes out. Although from what we’ve heard already, the kitchen sink may be included in DLC.
