Sins of a Solar Empire stand-alone expansion "Rebellion" released
Still sinning after four years
After nearly four and a half years on the market, Sins of a Solar Empire is out to prove its still got some juice. The latest expansion to the critically acclaimed strategy game, Rebellion, released todayand boasts a stand-alone experience that doesn't require the base game to play.
Rebellion is the third expansion to the cult hit space strategy game, and introduces a host of new content, from new capital ships and super-capital ships, to new "rebellious" and "loyalist" factions for each race.
The SoaSE series has been an unqualified success for developer Ironclad Games, who developed the title with a budget under $1 million, yet managed to sell over half a million copies (not including expansions.) The base game won several game of the year titles in 2008, and has maintained its cult status among hard core strategy fans ever since. They've also released a launch trailer highlighting some of the additions which you can find below.
