We’re not sure what this admission says about the quality of our musical tastes, but we reckon Boybands vs Girlbands is one of the best SingStar compilations to hit PS2 for quite a while. Part of the reason is down to Sony’s trawling of the back catalogues of those original boy and girl bands you might have forgotten (or are just too young to have ever known). Pouting pre-chavs Bananarama are there with ‘Love in the First Degree’, East 17 with ‘Stay Another Day’ and The Supremes with ‘Stop! In the Name of Love’.

This nostalgia rush is interrupted to give plenty of room for newer tracks by artists such as McFly, Westlife, Girls Aloud and the Pussycat Dolls. A warning shouldn’t be needed, but if the sounds of Busted make you want to weep, then steer clear of this one.
