Simon Kinberg talks Fantastic Four reboot
Talks about “different tonality and vibe”
Simon Kinberg has been discussing Fox’s forthcoming Fantastic Four reboot, and specifically how the production team are carefully selecting the first footage to debut to fans…
“We’re putting it together now,” says Kinberg to Comicbook.com , “and one of the important things, because this Fantastic Four is a reboot, and is such a different tonality and vibe from those other films, we want to make sure that the first thing we put out really expresses the voice of the movie, and isn’t compromised by not having visual effects ready, or anything like that.”
Kinberg himself has been a pretty constant presence on set throughout filming, and according to the producer, the new film will be a more “character-driven” piece than fans might have been expecting.
“I’ve seen all the footage from the movie,” says Kinberg. “I was there for pretty much the whole shoot. It is a very different film from the others, and one that I think is very different from other superhero movies. It’s a very emotional, character-driven, more grounded film than I think people are anticipating.”
Directed by Josh Trank and co-starring Kate Mara, Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell, The Fantastic Four will open in the UK on 6 August 2015.
