Sigourney Weaver talks Alien 5
Sigourney Weaver has been talking about Neill Blomkamp's upcoming Alien sequel with Variety, saying that the fifth film in the series will "break a lot of new ground".
"I can’t think of a better director," enthuses Weaver. "He’s a real fan. I think he’ll be true to the world and take it in unexpected directions."
"It’s got a lot of sinew in it," continues the star. "It will certainly stand up to the others and probably break a lot of new ground as well."
Weaver is currently starring in Blomkamp's latest movie, Chappie, an experience that seems to have thoroughly sold her on the director.
"It’s not happening in a far away world or an unrecognisable planet." says Weaver of Chappie. "I love how he uses this genre not for fantasy, but for human stories… even with robots."
Chappie opens in the US and UK today, with Alien 5 expected at some point in 2017.
