Shekhar Kapur taking over Anthony Minghella's latest
He’ll direct a part of New York, I Love You…
Before his tragically early death, Anthony Minghella had planned to write and direct a chunk of New York, I Love You, which will feature several stories about the city and its people.
Now Elizabeth: The Golden Age director Shekhar Kapur will take over for him, which was one of Minghella’s last wishes before he went into hospital, according to the director. "He told me his film was about the value of life and how people sometimes just throw away their lives, unable to look beyond into the real beauty of it," Kapur has blogged. "I will direct the film now - with Anthony in my heart and in presence of his soul."
Now he’ll need to cast and shoot the segment, which Minghella had already scripted. He starts cranking the cameras in April and The Hollywood Reporter has all the details .
