Shazam! Fury of the Gods has now got a streaming release date. The movie, which marks the return of Zachary Levi's DC hero to the big screen, picks up years after Shazam! as the team is forced into action to defeat a new enemy: the Daughters of Atlas.

The movie only landed in theaters a little while ago, but we now know when we'll be able to see it on the small screen too. It will be getting prime release on Warner Bros.' revamped service Max when that arrives very soon. We've got all you need to know about this, as well as how it compares to when previous releases like Black Adam and The Batman came on.

So whether you're waiting to see the DC movie on streaming, or you're desperate for a rewatch, we've broken down all of the details you need to know about Shazam! Fury of the Gods' streaming release.

When is Shazam! Fury of the Gods on Max?

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be released on streaming on May 23

This is the day that the formerly named HBO Max will relaunch as a new service called Max after merging with Discovery Plus. You'll only be able to watch the movie on here and you can see the different subscription options in our round-up of the streamer.

This means that Shazam! Fury of the Gods is arriving 68 days after its release in theaters. This isn't a real surprise as the movies tend to arrive anywhere from 45 days to around 70 days after their theatrical release. For example, The Batman arrived on HBO Max after 45 days, Black Adam was released after 57 days, and Elvis took 71 days to hit the streamer.

Per Deadline, Shazam 2 has only made $128 million worldwide since its debut in theaters, so Warner Bros. Discovery will likely be hoping it can help lure new subscribers to its streaming service.
