Black Mirror
Back in 2017, SFX went on set for the Star Trek-riffing episode “USS Callister”, stepping foot on the titular spacecraft. Now we do so again for the filming of a sequel episode, speaking to the show’s creator Charlie Brooker, director Toby Haynes, and four of the cast of the episode. Warning: may contain prosthetic testicles.
Doctor Who
The TARDIS rematerialises on 12 April for Ncuti Gatwa’s second season. In a 10-page feature, we talk to Doctor Who overlord Russell T Davies, Varada Sethu (new companion Belinda Chandra) and producer Joel Collins. Plus we talk to production designer Phil Sims, who shares some concept art from the first two episodes!
Andor
The story of Cassian Andor’s rebel is getting wrapped up, in a second and final season which, across four batches of episodes, bridges the gap between the debut run and the events of Rogue One. We find out more from star Diego Luna and showrunner Tony Gilroy.
The Last of Us
Also returning this month: the postapocalyptic videogame adaptation. Our correspondent went to SXSW in Austin, Texas to speak with showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, and cast members Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced and Young Mazino.
The Handmaid’s Tale
The TV show based on Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel set in a USA that’s become a totalitarian patriarchy will be bowing out with its sixth season. We find out what’s in store from showrunners Yahlin Chang and Eric Tuchman.

Red Alert
And the big features are just the tip of the iceberg! As ever, our news section, Red Alert, is crammed with insights into yet more movies, TV shows, comics and books. In the spotlight this month: Ryan Coogler on his horror movie Sinners; Kevin Bacon’s new demon-hunting show The Bondsman; videogame Dune: Awakening; Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season three; Mark Millar on vampire comic Vatican City; plus the latest Green Lantern, Solomon Kane, Wacky Races and Captain Planet titles.
