Seven Day Geek: Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Han Solo, Planet Of The Apes

A week is a very long time in the geekverse, with so many talking points it'd be hard for even a kaiju (Mothra / Barney the purple dinosaur, take your pick) to keep up.

So, we've gathered all the week's biggest geek news in one place, so that those aforementioned pilots can get on with the very serious business of being fighting Godzilla / being annoying.

We'd love to hear what you think of the below universe-shattering events, so comment your thoughts below, and we'll see you next week!

But first, dance us in Batman!

Fair enough!

The Big Event

Huge news broke late last Friday, when it was - sort of - confirmed that Harrison Ford has signed on to reprise Han Solo in Star Wars Episode 7.

If we were Ford, we'd constantly be reprising the role, just around the house.

In other Star Wars news, Mark Hamill updated us on his contract negotiations - we pray to the maker he agrees terms soon - and it was rumored that the plot revolves around Luke, Han, and Leia's kids.

Is this some sort of My Two Dads situation, only in space? Two Men And A Little Wookiee, anyone?

Good Week To Be...

Us! We got our hands on some world exclusive Pacific Rim concept art , and oh my Godzilla it was gorgeous.

Most Intriguing Story

We're really enjoying Marc Webb's dedication to viral marketing, and this week he posted the most mysterious image yet - a collage that makes the face of ex-President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Click through to find out our theory as to what it all means...

Marvel Round-Up

It's been another busy week for Marvel characters.

We got an achingly cool new shot of Wolverine . Marc Webb kept on Tweeting from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 set . While Bryan Singer got in on the action from X-Men: Days Of Future Pas t's shoot . Twice .

We found out that Sam Raimi refuses to watch The Amazing Spider-Man for reasons that are actually pretty sweet.

Joss Whedon talked SHIELD , while Jason Momoa signed on for The Guardians Of The Galaxy .

Oh, and we got a new Iron Man 3 character poster.

DC Round-Up

Another week, another DC exclusive - this time from Henry Cavill, who talked to us about Man Of Steel 2.

Delightful Discovery Of The Week

This very cool Simpsons / Spider-Man villain mash-up pleased us this week (click on the image for a shiny high-res version) .

We do think The Green Goblin should be tossing a flaming Moe, though.

Bad News Of The Week

Kathleen Kennedy is off Jurassic Park 4 . She's left the project to focus on Star Wars Episode 7 . According to Frank Marshall, “She’s traded raptors for TIE Fighters.”

She's ace, so the project will miss her. Good news for Star Wars fans, though.

Good News Of The Week

Jason Clarke who impressed us so much in Zero Dark Thirty has signed on for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes .

He's awesome, so this makes us very happy.

If you like this sort of thing, then we heartily recommend totalfilm.com's weekly viral / meme round-up . It's ace.
