There are some days where the movie news is bland and featureless. And then there are days like today, when three of our favourite things get baked together into a beautiful, tasty film flan.
The cook behind today’s delicious-seeming recipe (okay, now we’re stretching the food metaphor waaaaay too far) is Total Film favourite Kevin Smith. He’s been dropping hints for ages that his new film – Zack And Miri Make A Porno (the adventures of a pair of friends who decide to try for some easy cash with a little filmed fornication, and end up realising they love each other) - will star someone funny that hasn’t worked on any of his movies before.
And now we know who that who is – Knocked Up and Superbad star Seth Rogen, who has signed his contract to play Zack. Plus, to make the dish even tastier, Variety has announced that Elizabeth Banks (who appeared with Rogen in The 40-Year-Old Virgin) is continuing her run of finding quality comedy by co-starring as Miri.
Pre-production is now well underway in Pittsburgh for the movie to start shooting in January. Rest assured we’ll be covering this one like a giant tent. Or, you know, something less ridiculous…
