Devolver Digital, the team behind Serious Sam 3: BFE, are launching an attack on modern cover shooters - and offering a free copy of their game to 100 gamers who join their plight. In a rather personal attack on Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Devolver's official website has this to say:
It seems that the hashtag in question isn't only intended for criticism of Medal of Honor: Warfighter, although the tweets on it are mainly aimed at that one game. Not that EA is probably concerned by the attack: Medal of Honor: Warfighter is sitting pretty at the top of the UK all-formats chart at this very moment. Anything selling better than FIFA at this time of year is doing very well indeed.
And we feel we should point out there's no gulf in quality between the two games (pictured above). In fact, both Serious Sam 3: BFE and Medal of Honor: Warfighter scored 3/5 stars at review. Still, as an exercise in publicity, however underhanded, it obviously worked. You are, after all, reading these words. Hmmm.
