See how the digi-sausage gets made in this Gears of War making-of

published Any self-respecting franchise game gets a making-of these days, and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is more self-respecting than most. Starting now, The Coalition will be releasing a behind-the-scenes video about its upcoming remaster every week. The first episode in the series (which you can watch below) covers the general stuff - who people are, why they're making the first game again - with hopefully more specific, in-depth stuff to come.
I don't know what that stuff will be, so in lieu of actual news, here is a list of episode suggestions from me:
- Meat and Greet - building a maquette of Marcus Fenix out of real beef and ham to digitally scan into the game.
- Lunch time - watch everyone in the studio have lunch
- Capturing the noise - we go into Rod Fergusson's garden with a big microphone and chainsaw things like tables and mice for a couple of hours.
- Boasting - a texture designer says that, although remasters are obviously really tough work, he finds it quite easy.
If that's not enough Gears of War-related video for you, why not watch the Ultimate Edition's spiffy new intro cinematic?
