See Assassin's Creed Origins' Far Cry-style camps in action in this exclusive gameplay walkthrough

It’s out in a mere matter of weeks but if you want a taster of what’s to come when the Animus takes us back to Ancient Egypt in Assassin’s Creed Origins, look no further than Assassin’s Central’s exclusive gameplay session above. A part of the Scarab’s Sting quest, this slice of stealth sees Bayek sneaking into a highly guarded camp to save a man who has been kidnapped. Spoiler: lots of people die.

The Scarab is actually member of the Order of the Ancients, a nefarious crew of proto-Templars who want to take Egypt back to its glory days of yore. At this point in the main story, Bayek is uncovering the evil deeds of the Scarab and is rescuing a man who dared question what was going. Don’t worry about story spoilers though, this small chunk of gameplay is just a taster of what awaits in the desert and a chance to look at some seriously pretty visuals. Who knew camels could look this good, and just listen to that noise when it arrives….

Guarded camps aren’t just part of the story. You’ll uncover them as you wander across the intimidatingly huge version of Egypt and scope them out with your eagle, Senu. There’s always treasure and nearly always death waiting inside so it’s best to watch your creeping step. Check out the Far Cry-style action in the exclusive video from Assassin’s Central above.

Assassin’s Central can be found exclusively on 12DOVE on Tuesdays and Fridays, and you can subscribe on YouTube to make sure you never miss a show.
