Why you can trust 12DOVE
Scurge: Hive may be derivative at first glance, but once you penetrate its familiar shell, you'll find a fresh take on a classic genre. Granted, Scurge is essentially Metroid Fusion in an isometric (better known as three-quarter) view, but the simple fact is that Metroid Fusion is still an excellent game, so it follows that Scurge is as well.
It's not as though it's a complete copy, either. Sure, you play as a girl, she is a bounty hunter, she makes a frequent habit of taking elevators around space stations and she becomes infected with a strange virus that will eventually take over all of her motor functions, but... well, there is no "but," that's pretty much the plot of Metroid Fusion. Oh well, the core of our argument remains the same: Scurge is fun, and that's all there is to it.
