Scrat the squirrel goes cosmic in Ice Age: Collision Course teaser
Every single movie in the Ice Age franchise always has one diminutive character that somehow stands above the rest: that buffoon of a squirrel, Scrat. Having chased elusive acorns throughout an entire era, the little rodent is now steering the marketing efforts of Fox for the next installment, Ice Age: Collision Course.
In this amusing teaser, pre-historic sabre-toothed Scrat is out of his depth, as usual. Bumbling his way into a dark cavern, he stumbles upon a dormant alien vessel with an interior that looks suspiciously like a ship out of Halo. No prizes for guessing what happens next.
Though it's promoting the short film, Cosmic Scrat-ascrophe, that's rolling out in front of The Peanuts Movie, it's unusual that the furry rodent hasn't yet been blessed with his own spinoff. His slapstick antics often outshine the main storyline in the flagship films (see: the awesome Martian-inspired parody poster below). Meanwhile, the next feature-length outing, Ice Age: Collision Course, arrives in UK theaters on July 15, 2016, followed by a US release on July 22.
