Hello and welcome to the lovely little corner of the SFX website given over to finding your favourite film and TV shows at the lowest price the internet has to offer… Welcome to the Friday bargains round-up…
A couple of bargains from Amazon’s “Deals of the Week” first. We found The Immortals on a Blu-ray/3D Blu-ray combo for £5.99 . Buy it and you can play the silly hat drinking game.
Next we spotted Ford and Craig together in Cowboys & Aliens . The Blu-ray release of the film was going for £5.97 .
Also in this week’s offer we spotted The Matrix Trilogy on Blu-ray for £12.97 and the excellent animated companion piece, The AniMatrix , also on Blu-ray , for just £6.34 . If you don’t want Blu-ray you can pick both up a lot cheaper; the DVD of the The AniMatrix is a bargaintastic £1.75 and the three Matrix films can be found on DVD for £6.82 .
Freaky animation next with the Spielberg/Jackson collaboration The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn . The film can be found on Blu-ray from Amazon for £7.97 .
Elsewhere on the internet we found that Zavvi had X-Men: First Class on a Triple Play set for £9.45 . We spotted Denzel Washington in the late Tony Scott’s timey-wimey Déjà Vu , it’s on Blu-ray for just £8 .
We saw loads of cheap Blu-rays in Asda this week. They had several of the Universal 100th anniversary releases in their “2 Blu-rays for £12 ” offer. We saw Paul, King Kong, Jurassic Park, Despicable Me and Apollo 13 among others. Asda also had a “2 Blu-rays for £10 ” offer on. From the forum this week Silver Fox told us about the Ultimate Jurassic Park trilogy boxed set on Blu-ray for £10.95 from Zavvi. You can also get all three films on DVD for £7.95 . Buffster told us that Sainsbury’s have an entertainment blitz on, including some fairly recent DVDs for £3 , and suggests people pop into their local branch to check it out. Buffster also found season two of The Vampire Diaries for £5 in Sainsbury’s. Roddersj04 had a non sci-fi bargain for us this week, also from Sainsbury’s: he found Sons Of Anarchy seasons one and two for £5 each and season three for £6 .
In our random selection this week we have a couple of Walking Dead T-shirts for you. Both this Dead Inside shirt and this Zombie Horde shirt, with art by Drew Struzan, are available from Play for £11.75 each.
Lee Grice from the forum shared a selection of T-shirts that he found from Sports Direct. Lee found ladies Wonder Woman shirts here and here for £5 each, plus a Batgirl shirt also for £5 and some ladies undies with superhero logos here and here for £3.50 each.
For the boys we have a Batman shirt for £6 and a Superman shirt for £6.99 .
We also found this set of Portal Cookie Cutters . The set has eight shapes including Turret, Running Test Subject, Falling Test Subject and Companion Cube, all for £14.99 .
Next we have a great little find for classic Star Trek fans. This door chime unit has a push-button control with ”Communicator Whistle”, “Door Opening” and “Red Alert” sounds. You can make any door in your house sound like the Enterprise for £24.99 .
Finally for this week we found a Doctor Who universal remote. The remote is a replica of the 13th Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver . At £59.99 it’s not exactly a bargain but we thought some of you out there would want to see it. This piece is beautifully designed and packed full of features; the die-cast metal model is hand crafted and can be programmed to control household gadgets such as your TV, DVD player or stereo. Unfortunately it won’t open wooden doors.
That’s all for this week. Remember; if you find anything we’ve brought you this week cheaper somewhere else please mention it in the comments section below. We want as many bargain ideas for our readers as we can get. If anyone out there spots a sci-fi bargain they want to share over the coming week then please head over to our forum and mention it in the relevant thread. This thread is for bargain films and this one is for TV bargains , a thread for comics and graphic novels and finally this thread is for any random bargain you might find.
