Sci-fi and graphic novel events at Stoke Newington Literary Festival!

There’ll be a strong genre presence at this year’s festival, starting this Friday. Book your tickets!

Now entering its fifth year, Stoke Newington Literary Festival ( follow them on Twitter ) has taken an unashamedly geeky turn with some guests from the SFX universe. The event will boast appearances by top authors like Ben Aaronovitch and Stephen Hunt, alongside other panel activities about crime writing, film criticism, art, feminism and Shakespeare among many others.

Stoke Newington Authors

The line-up includes "The Science Of Star Wars " in which two scientists will probe the fantastic frontier between movie magic and cutting-edge science, and "Relationships In Science-Fiction And Fantasy" in which four leading writers in this area (Ben Aaronovitch, Stephen Hunt, Mitch Benn and Jon Wallace) talk with Gollancz's Associate Publisher Simon Spanton about what it means to be a genre writer and how they play with the boundaries.
