Schwarzenegger and Stallone team up for The Tomb
Pair snapped in hospital together
When you’ve spent the best part of your life firing heavy duty assault weapons and swinging punches for a living, chances are your joints are going to be pretty knackered when you hit middle age. No matter how much of a badass you are.
Such is the case for Sly Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who were photographed together at the same hospital after independently booking themselves in for shoulder surgery.
“After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand , it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder,” says Arnie. “Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery! Now we're ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb .”
That’s right, the venerable bruisers will be reuniting for action flick The Tomb , in which Stallone’s architect is framed and imprisoned in a complex he designed. Can he remember enough about it to escape? We’d imagine he probably can.
Schwarzenegger will play a character named Church, one of Sly’s fellow inmates who is described by the official press release as, “a complex inmate with multiple shades of grey.” We’re sure he’s more interesting than that, though…
The Tomb will be directed by The Rite ’s Mikael Hafstrom, and shooting is expected to begin this spring, with the film set to open in 2013.
