Scarlett Johansson will head up Dreamworks Ghost In The Shell remake
Dreamworks’ long-anticipated remake of Ghost In The Shell looks to have found itself a leading lady, with Variety reporting that Scarlett Johansson has signed on to join the project.
Johansson will be playing Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg woman with a human soul, who heads up a covert ops unit specialising in thwarting cyber-terrorists.

The adaptation was first mooted by Dreamworks some five years ago, but appeared to have stalled until the appointment of director Rupert Sanders last year.
The project still doesn’t have an official green light, but with Johansson now fully on board, we don’t imagine they’ll have to wait much longer…
