Talking to MTV’s Splash Page about the new comic he’s involved in, Jackson said, "Nobody's told me anything. I was reading the trades last week and I saw the cast list. My name was in it, so maybe I am doing something that I don't know about and I'll hear about it soon."
Jackson had signed a multi-picture deal to star as Fury in a number of cameos in Marvel-related film projects, leading up to a major appearance in The Avengers which would tie all the films together. But that was before Disney bought Marvel. Now, says Jackson, "Since Disney's bought the franchise, I have no idea what Marvel told them or even if my deal with Marvel is still valid."
However, it has been confirmed that SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson (played by Clark Gregg) will be making crossover appearances in both Iron Man 2 and Thor.
That Sam Jackson comic, by the way, is Cold Space , for Boom Studios, in which Jackson (or likeness anyway) will appear. Jackson will also collaborate on the series with his Emmy-winning Afro Samurai cohort Eric Calderon, with Jeremy Rock doing the art chores. The SF tale focuses on an outlaw who crash-lands on a foreign planet and looks for a way to profit off of a civil war between two factions.
