Sam Raimi finally ready to resurrect Evil Dead?
“We're looking at a script this month
Talk of an Evil Dead reboot and/or fourquel rolls around every couple of years, but it looks like director Sam Raimi is finally ready to consider giving an Evil Dead reboot his full attention.
Raimi’s long-time producing partner Rob Tapert spoke to the Detroit Free Press about the idea, and revealed: “It's possible; we're looking at a script this month.”
The producer goes on to add: “What's interesting about Evil Dead is very few people saw it in the format we made it for, which is for the theatre...
“I think Sam wants to embrace the ultimate experience in gruelling terror and see it remade for a proper theatrical experience.”
A reboot of the series will no doubt upset die-hard fans, who've been clamouring for an Evil Dead 4 for years.
We’re sure Raimi can appease them, though, by including a return for cult icon and star of all three Dead films Bruce Campbell as zombie-battling Ash.
