Sam & Max dev take on Strong Bad
Telltale Games brings the best of homestarrunner.com to WiiWare
In addition to bringing its Sam %26amp; Max episodic adventure series to Wii, Telltale Games is bringing Strong Bad to the Wii.
TitledStrong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, the game will be released on WiiWareas a series of episodic installments - the firstof whichto hit in June. The entire game will consist of five episodestotal, and be released on a monthly schedule. A PC game is also planned for sometime in the future.
Based on the long-running (by web standards) cartoons by Matt and Mike Chapman ofhomestarrunner.com, the game will focus on Strong Bad, a short villain in a wrestling mask described as "the self-proclaimed coolest person ever." (His standards for cool, incidentally, are pretty much identical to those held by 12-year-olds in 1986.)
"The episodes play like extended cartoons, during which the player assumes the role of Strong Bad - controlling his actions, hearing his innermost thoughts, and becoming part of his awesome world," Telltale explains.
"Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is a story-driven series with a comic spin that's undeniably Strong Bad. The player uncovers each episode's comedic plot through character interaction, dialogue-based puzzles, and the use (and abuse) of inventory items."
Telltale adds that each episode is crammed with "time-wasters" to "keep players poking around in the world, including Strong Bad emails to check, prank phone calls to place, and mini-games..." and that WiiConnect 24 features are included.
