More actors linked to Harry Osborn in Amazing Spider-Man sequel
Four new actors being considered
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ’s casting process has taken another twist, with four new names having been added to the list of potential actors for Harry Osborn.
We’d previously heard that Dane DeHaan, Alden Ehrenreich and Brady Corbet were the three frontrunners for the part, but Heat Vision now reports that Sony are looking for a more athletic, imposing figure, as per their initial brief.
As such, Sam Claflin and Eddie Redmayne have reportedly jumped to the head of the queue, while Douglas Booth and Boyd Holbrook are also thought to be under consideration. It's hard to imagine Claflin having time for another franchise, as his future is littered with Hunger Games sequels.
Played by James Franco in Sam Raimi’s take on the series, Harry Osborn is Peter Parker’s best friend, and the son of the villainous Norman Osborn. Things are all fine until Spidey gets involved in his dad’s downfall, and Harry starts to lose his way somewhat…
Directed by Marc Webb and co-starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open in the UK on 18 April 2014.
