SAG Award noms announced

The Screen Actors’ Guild is the latest awards body to throw its nomination hat into the ring as what the Americans called Kudos Season continues to pull into high gear.

The SAG Awards aren’t usually a massive indicator on who should be saving shelf space for a golden Oscar baldie, but this year they’ve gone for most of the people – Leo, Forrest Whittaker, Peter O’Toole, Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet etc – who are likely to be the front-runners come the night of the Academy Awards.

It’s nice to see Little Miss Sunshine and the superb supporting cast from Little Children get some recognition, but it remains to be seen if anyone can avoid the behemoths of Babel and Dreamgirls.

The list of film types is below. For the full list, including the TV thesps up for gongs, head over here to SAG’s site.
