Sacha Baron Cohen's Grimsby will open in 2015
Sony snaps up distribution rights
Sacha Baron Cohen's forthcoming comedy, Grimsby , has received an official release date, with the film set to open in the US on 31 July 2015.
Deadline reports that the Louis Leterrier-directed film has also got a new distributor, with Sony set to release the picture in place of Paramount.
Grimsby will follow a British black-ops agent, who is forced to go on the run with his estranged brother, a beer-swilling football hooligan. Naturally, Cohen will be playing both parts…
Cohen co-wrote the script with his Borat partner Peter Baynham, with further contributions coming from Philomena 's Phil Johnston. Production is slated to begin on the project this summer, with a UK release date yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Cohen has renewed his first-look deal with Paramount for the next three years, with the star saying, "any studio that puts out a movie where Leonardo DiCaprio snorts cocaine from a hooker’s anus is a place I’m happy to call home."
Nicely put, Sacha...
