Multiple reports suggest Sony's PS4 launch game DriveClub has been delayed from this November to spring 2014. The rumour originated from an anonymous source speaking to website The Same Coin. A person said to be familiar with Sony’s plans then told Kotaku that the report was accurate.
Additionally, Kotaku says the game was removed from a line-up of PS4 titles being shown off by Sony at an event in San Francisco this week. A Sony rep told the site that the game’s absence was due to a “scheduling conflict”. Asked if the racer has been delayed, the rep said Sony wouldn’t comment on rumour and speculation. We’ve also contacted Sony for comment about the game’s status.
Addressing the rumour on Twitter, DriveClub design director Paul Rustchynsky said:
Unfortunately guys I don't have any new information on DRIVECLUB to share. I've been out if the office for a week looking after my newborn!October 16, 2013
Until we hear otherwise from Sony, DriveClub will launch alongside PS4 next month. A free, stripped down version of the game is also due to be offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
