Rumour: Ben Affleck's Batman look to be based on Batman: Noel?
Makeover also in line for the Batmobile
A couple of interesting rumours have emerged this morning about the potential aesthetic for Ben Affleck's Batman, with Zack Snyder looking to break away from the Nolanverse with Batman vs. Superman .
According to CBM , Batman's new cowl will take its cues from Batman: Noel , a 2011 outing from Lee Bermejo in which the Dark Knight can be seen sporting a dark grey suit as opposed to the traditional black.
Meanwhile, Batman On Film reports that the Batmobile will adopt a far less military design than Nolan's Tumbler, and will appear as a car in the more traditional sense.
Given that Nolan's take on the Batmobile was something of a departure in itself, it makes sense that Snyder would want to break away from it for his vision of the character, and the same goes for the cowl. With a character that has been on screen as recently as Batman, different is a good thing…
Directed by Snyder and co-starring Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams, Batman vs. Superman will open in the US on 17 July 2015, with a UK date to be confirmed.
