Rumor: Ben Affleck's Batman has Warner wanting more movies
Warner Bros. executives were treated to an early cut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the last week, with those in attendance reportedly blown away by Ben Affleck's portrayal of Batman. According to Den Of Geek, the studio was so bowled over by Batfleck that it's now pushing for more Batman standalone movies in the Warner-DC Cinematic Universe.
Affleck is currently signed up for one solo film that he will also direct and co-write with Geoff Johns. If this report is true, Warner now plans to produce three films in total and reconfigure its future slate around the "definitive Batman."
Additional reporting from THR adds weight to the rumor, with two of Affleck's forthcoming movies The Accountant and his Dennis Lehane thriller, Live By Night, getting pushed back by more than half a year. How much room do you need to cram in some extra Batman?
