Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum star in trailer for Steven Soderberghs Side Effects: watch now
Say no to drugs
The first trailer has emerged for Side Effects (formerly The Bitter Pill ), Steven Soderbergh’s supposed final film before retirement, starring a washed-out Rooney Mara and a ruggedly supportive Channing Tatum.
The two stars play a successful New York couple who find their lives beginning to unravel when a new drug prescribed by Mara’s psychiatrist (Jude Law) produces some unexpected and destructive side effects.
If you’re thinking dizziness or nausea, think again. It’s a little more serious than that… particularly when somebody ends up dead.
Take a look at the new trailer, below…
Part psychological pot-boiler, part indictment of the pharmaceutical industry, it looks as though Soderbergh has conjured up a taut little thriller, with a cast capable of lifting it beyond an admittedly melodramatic premise.
Co-starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Side Effects will open in the UK on 15 March 2013. Always read the label.
