Ron Perlman talks Mountains Of Madness and Hellboy 3
“Everything will be resolved”
Ron Perlman’s a busy man. Having just finished up season three of TV series Sons Of Anarchy , he’s appearing on the big screen this year in Season Of The Witch and Conan The Barbarian .
But that's not all – he’s got still more film projects clamouring for his attention. First up, he’s hoping to star in At The Mountains Of Madness.
The next directing gig for a Hobbit -free Guillermo del Toro, it’s an adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft’s novel that Perlman hopes his Sons Of Anarchy schedule will permit him to be a part of.
"The movie takes place in the North Pole, and so I’m on board as this sort of dog sled dude," he tells io9 .
"I spend my entire life with these dogs. So I’m a rough guy, among all these scientists. I’m a contrast to the deeply intellectual world that’s being explored.
"I live outside all the time, I live in the elements. I kick some butt. I hope we get a chance to do it."
Meanwhile, Hellboy 3 refuses to die a noble death, with Internet rumour-chatter as loud as ever. Promisingly, Perlman himself still seems keen.
"Of course you have Liz pregnant with twins at the end of the second film. So you don’t know what those two offspring are going to be. Are they going to be more human? Are they going to be more demon? And how is that going to play out in terms of Hellboy’s destiny?"
Perlman rests assured that, if a third Hellboy happens, "everything will be resolved, all these open-ended questions will finally be resolved".
Will it ever happen? Your guess is as good as ours. But if Perlman does end up filming Madness with del Toro, you can bet they’ll be chatting about it.
