Roland Emmerichs 2012 is crazy
Star Amanda Peet has seen early footage
Love his films or loathe them (or both), Roland Emmerich knows a thing or two about Earth-destroying spectacle.
And his current apocalypso sounds like it’ll top even previous efforts such as ID4 and The Day After Tomorrow .
At least, that’s the impression one gets from one of 2012’s stars, Amanda Peet, who talked about the early footage she’s seen to MTV.
“It’s been fun”
“There are some things that happen in Los Angeles, crazy stuff,” she says of scenes that include huge earthquakes and other natural disasters. ”My character and John Cusack’s character see it from a plane. We get off the ground and we escape in an airplane and some of the stuff that [Roland] shows us is incredible and really frightening.
“We’ve seen some like early, early, early footage and it’s crazy. It’s crazy. Sometimes he shows us really early footage to show us what we’re going to be up against kind of, you know, because often times we’ll be in front of a blue screen or green screen so sometimes,” Peet said. “It’s been fun.’
Oh, and she’s also able to elaborate a little more about the plot. “Basically, there are some people who know that there is going to be this sort of colossal global disaster and most people don’t. I’m on the sort of civilian side of the story where John Cusack and I try to escape with our family and find safety.”
We’ll have plenty more from 2012 in the coming months.
