Roger Michell to helm Bond 22?

Poor old Daniel Craig: he’s still busy throwing himself all over the place making Casino Royale – probably the most aggressive and action-packed Bond flick ever – and now he’s got to do it all again…

Rumours that filming some sequences for Bond 22 is already underway may be a little premature but it seems that Eon Productions – the Bond franchise holders – are setting everything in motion for the super spy’s next outing.

Although neither Eon nor Sony Pictures will comment on Craig’s second outing in the tux, word is that it’s operating under the working title of Risico and is lining up Roger Michell to take the directorial reins.

Best known for Notting Hill, Michell has worked with Craig on two previous occasions – The Mother and Enduring Love – which suggests a level of trust between actor and lenser that might ease Michell’s journey into the chair.

As for the title, Risico comes from Ian Fleming’s 1960 compilation of 007 tales entitled Four Your Eyes Only. Parts of the Risico story have already cropped up in the previous franchise entries but it is thought that Eon honcho Michael G Wilson has put the title to a planned new adventure yet to be written.

Looks like we’ll have to put up with those pesky Craig naysayers for a little while longer…
