Rockstar's exclusive PS3 game

"We are announcing that a new franchise from Rockstar Games will be exclusive to PS3," Sony trumpeted over the weekend, no doubt raising the pulses of every PS3 owning gamer with, well, a pulse.

Sony bills the series as Rockstar's "next great franchise," though the GTA developer has yet to issue even a whisper on the game's exact details. Given the creative pedigree though, the agreement has megawatt potential to boost PS3's stalling appeal.

It goes without saying (though we're about to say it) that Sony was adamant that the upcoming title was "only possible" on PS3. We await concrete details from Rockstar with baited breath.
