Rockstar sticks GTA IV in New York's face

Like it or loath it (if you're a city official), GTA IV is coming this October and it's probably going to the biggest game of the year. The advertising campaign is up and running in New York, and not long after NY cityofficials cried outrage at the game's setting.

It wasn't long ago that city councilman Peter Vallone, chairman of the council's public safety committee came out with this classic quote that will go down in gaming history: "Setting Grand Theft Auto in the safest big city in America would be like setting Halo in Disneyland."

Even the Mayor of NYC jumped on the banned wagon, with his spokesperson adding, "The mayor does not support any video game where you earn points for injuring or killing police officers."

None of it seems to phase Rockstar though. The firm has completely taken over oneside of abuilding with a huge ad for the upcoming crime-a-thon.

Shall we run a book and see how long it stays up for?
