Rockstar: Dont count out the possibility of LA Noire 2
Acclaimed question-'em-up could be revisited, allows publisher
LA Noire fans shouldn't rule out the possibility of revisiting the title, said Rockstar Games in a recent Asked and Answered feature (via CVG). While the studio's not planning to support the game with any further DLC or content updates, it says everyone's “very pleased with how that game turned out and are considering what the future may hold” for the game's series/franchise possibilities.
“We don’t always rush to make sequels,” says Rockstar, “but that does not mean we won’t get to them eventually – see Max [Payne] and Red Dead for evidence of that.” While Noire developer Team Bondi's well-documented meltdown has seen the studio's talents (and future projects) absorbed into future interactive projects by Mad Max director George Miller, Rockstar still has plenty of teams that could go to work on a Noire sequel if the time were right.
Just this month, it emerged that the company's Vancouver arm was gearing up for a new project post-Red Dead Redemption. The above comments seem to indicate fairly strongly that that project won't be LA Noire 2 – but without any officials on-hand for an impromptu test of the lie-detecting skills the original taught us, who knows what's really going on behind closed doors? Forget it Jake, it's Rockstartown, etc.
