Robert De Niro asks What Just Happened?
He’s starring in an adaptation of Art Linson’s memoir
Fight Club producer Art Linson’s memoir What Just Happened is so chock full of excellent stories (such as the stresses and strains of making The Edge with Alec Baldwin and Anthony Hopkins) that it was surely only a matter of time before someone approached him to option it.
And now Barry Levinson – last seen behind the camera of Robin Williams political comedy Man Of The Year – is that man, planning to direct a version of the book with Robert De Niro playing a Linson surrogate.
He’s starring as Ben, a producer thrust into two weeks of hell as he tries desperately to get a film made, keep his career intact and survive the shark tank that is working in Hollywood. The movie will feature cameos from the likes of Sean Penn and will head before cameras in March.
All over Hollywood, litigation lawyers are popping champagne corks and hoping for a very happy 2007…
