Resident Evil 6 coming 'as rapidly as possible,' Devil May Cry 5 will have 'Western touch'
Inafune shares a few tidbits about RE6 and DMC 5
"Given the great success that supposed for us Resident Evil 5, we want that Resident Evil 6 leaves as rapidly as possible to the market. In fact, you will shortly have the news of Capcom about this," he said.
Tokyo Game Show begins September 16th, so perhaps that's when we can expect an announcement. Maybe with less racial tension this time!
Inafune also revealed a few details about Devil May Cry 5, though it isnot yet in development, saying that the game will "incorporate a Western touch" to "make it more attractive to American and European players." Said "touch" was not described in detail.
Building games with the West in mind seemslike a flawed approach to us. Make a better game, and the market will respond, but intentionally "Westernize" agame, and the result will feel disingenuous. Ideally,Capcomcanmake itsseries more palatable to wider audiences without alienating core fans or losing its identity. Easier said than done, we know.
