Reilly Walks Hard while Cheadle goes for Miles
Talladega star confirmed for biopic parody while Cheadle signs to sing as Miles Davis
It seems the trend of turning the life experiences of crooners, wailers and soul-merchants into movies isn’t coming to an end any time soon. Still, there is an antidote.
You’ll probably have heard that the men behind 40 Year-Old Virgin and Orange County (Judd Apatow and Jake Kasdan) are teaming up to bring you Walk Hard. Well, Talladega Nights star John C Reilly has finally scribbled to star in the musician biopic parody that chronicles the tale of Dewey Cox.
Reilly will arrive on set for a mid-January shoot, ready to poke fun at Walk The Line, Ray and Beyond The Sea.
On the other side of the coin, Traffic star Don Cheadle has signed on the line to direct and star in a biopic of jazz legend Miles Davis. Not to be knocked, the Davis flick has been scribed by respected biopic key-tappers Chris Wilkinson and Steve Rivele. The duo are best known for their writing duties on Ali and Nixon. So… title guesses… Davis, by any chance?
