Regional critics to vote for their film of the year
Critics to put away pens and hand out gongs...
Not satisfied with giving their opinions on films in the form of features and reviews, UK regional critics are to be given the chance to hand out gongs to their favourite flicks this month, as part of the descriptively titled ‘The UK Regional Critics’ Film Awards’.
The event has been created by Cinema Days – organisers of UK film industry trade events for regional journalists, critics and writers across all media – and will give journos the chance to vote for their Film of the Year, Filmmaker of the Year, Performance of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
Our fellow hacks will cast their vote online between 12 January and 30 January, and the results will be announced in early February.
Films such as Pan’s Labyrinth, The Prestige, Babel and Little Miss Sunshine are expected to do well. And quite right too.
