Ray Winstone joins Point Break remake
He'll take on the Gary Busey role
After suffering the loss of Gerard Butler earlier in the week, there's some better news for the Point Break remake this morning with the news that Ray Winstone has officially signed on to join the cast.
Deadline reports that Winstone has now signed on the dotted line to play Agent Pappas, Johnny Utah's meatball-sub-loving FBI partner.
Of course, that was the role played so memorably by Gary Busey first time around, so Winstone will certainly have his work cut out for him in terms of living up to expectations…
There's no word as yet on any prospective replacements for Butler, who was to play the role of Bodhi, although Alcon is expected to move quickly on that front in order to stay on schedule.
Directed by Ericson Core and co-starring Luke Bracey as Utah, Point Break is expected to open in summer 2015, with an official release date yet to be confirmed.
