Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One limited public beta announced, singleplayer teaser released
You've seen the weapons, now take a look at the levels
The latest trailer for Insomniac's co-op focused Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One takes a break from exhaustively cataloguing the game's cache of cartoonishly inventive artillery. Now it's time to take a look at the bits between the gunfights. Fortunately, the jumping 'n' collecting component of R&C has always been the series’ strong suit.
In a recent post on the US PlayStation Blog, Insomniac Games senior community manager James Stevenson offered more insight on today’s new trailer. “Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One is built from the ground-up to be a co-op game, and many of the mechanics are very co-op based. So [we] quickly realized we needed to give you a computer-controller partner to keep the gameplay balanced. In that regard, if you play All 4 One alone as Ratchet, Qwark or Nefarious, you’ll be teamed up with an AI bot playing as Clank. As you traverse the levels, Clank will ride on your back, just like always. When you reach enemies or a section that requires teamwork, Clank will jump off your back and help you out,” explains Stevenson. So what happens if you chose Clank? Stevenson promises a “special surprise” in store for Ratchet fans.
As the October 18 release for Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One approaches, you can also look forward to the chance to try out the game ahead of time via what Stevenson describes as “a very limited public beta.” The beta will be running from September 13 to September 27. If you’re a regular reader of GamesRadar, you know we love to share the love with beta keys and prizes. So be sure to check the site in the coming days. We just might have some special codes to the All 4 One beta to share.
