Another day, another Star Wars casting rumour, with Twitch claiming that the forthcoming sequel has cast a trio of actors from martial arts extravaganza, The Raid.
The report claims that Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruyhian, and Cecep Arif Rahman will all appear in the new film, although no details are mentioned as to who they might be playing.
Having demonstrated their high-kicking prowess in the two Raid films, it seems safe to assume their fighting skills will be employed again here, potentially with the added excitement of lightsabers…
There has been a lot of talk about how there will be an emphasis on practical effects in the new film, and this latest rumour would appear to fit in with that approach.
Directed by J.J. Abrams and co-starring Adam Driver, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will open in the UK and US on 18 December 2015.
