Quantum Conundrum aims to defeat physics by turning itself into a TV show

If a long and painful history of crossovers has taught us anything, it’s that games don’t translate well to TV. Aiming to change the reputation of shows inspired by games is Square-Enix physics-breaking puzzler Quantum Conundrum, which is turning itself into a TV game show.

Going under the title of ‘The Super Dimensional Quantum Learning's Problems and Solutions Gametime Spectacular!!’, the show, created by art group iam8bit, will be hosted by Kevin Pereira, ex-host of Attack of the Show, and feature the game’s mascot - Interdimensional Kinetic Entity, or his more pronounceable name, Ike.

Contestants on the show appear to go into the various dimensions that feature in the game, such as the “Anti-gravity” dimension and the “Slow” dimension, recreating the wonky physics that we saw. As anyone who paid attention during science at school should know, wonky physics are meant to be impossible. A brief clip released online so far indicates that the madness of the game should be captured by the TV show.

Nobody wants to be reminded of ‘classics’ from the 80’s and 90’s like The Super Mario Bros. Show, Captain N or the princess excusing Link from The Legend of Zelda cartoon, but for the sake of this news story we will remind you anyway. So while there’s no date for when the show will air, this already looks like it might be better than the ‘prestigious’ company it will be joining.
