If you've been following Alan Wake developer Remedy's Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break, you might have noticed a seeming last-minute casting change at Gamescom 2015, as protagonist Jack Joyce suddenly gained a new and different face. Despite speculation regarding evil twins and merging realities (pretty par for the course when a game is about time travel), the truth is far more mundane: the original Jack was a stand-in.
During a tour of Microsoft's booth and preview of the game, 12DOVE learned that the actor playing Joyce was always meant to be replaced, and it simply wasn't until Microsoft's Gamescom 2015 press conference that we got to see Shawn Ashmore (who plays Iceman in the X-Men movies) take up the role. The good news for the actor who was put on ice is that he's not out of work - he'll be part of the supporting cast when the game/television show hybrid goes live in April 2016.
